For your first shift, please reach out to Kei Burke for training (kei.burke@sciowa.org)
- Birdfeeder refilling
- Watering is at least twice a week
- Needed rain or shine: the plastic planters in the windows are covered by the building and do not receive rain. The metal planters out on the edges will need less frequent watering, but will still need it on occasion.
- Volunteers will need minor training on standards, how to use the hose, and where the seed is stored.
- Volunteers will need to be comfortable working outdoors, in all weather, and near bees as we will have several active hives. They shouldn’t ever need to go near the hives themselves, but the bees will be constant.
- Normally watering takes less than half an hour usually! It is best done in the morning, but any time of the day can be acceptable.
